Board of Education

Board members are elected at large but represent a specific area of the county - their representative district. Board members are not paid; they give freely of their time to serve the community.

Board & District Policies

Jeffco Public Schools has developed policies which are intended to protect the rights and well-being of our students and staff, and provide operational structure. These policies are constantly changing to better meet our mission and meet state and federal requirements. A searchable database of policies, BoardDocs, is available for public review.

Administration & School Leadership

The Superintendent is supported by an administrative team of Cabinet members.

The school district is divided into 17 articulation areas that feed into one of Jeffco's high schools, providing assigned schools for each neighborhood served, as well as option and charter school choices. Each area is managed by a Community Superintendent who:

  • Monitors and evaluates school effectiveness
  • Monitors student achievement and implementation of a consistent curriculum across all grade levels
  • Coordinates student services
  • Monitors school safety and student behavior
  • Responds to parental concerns that cannot be resolved at the school level

District and Board Committees

Our community realizes that strong schools are everyone's responsibility. Many community members, as well as parents, serve as advisors to the district and the Board of Education through a variety of committees and work groups.
