Teachers in Jeffco
Candidates for an elementary teaching position must hold a valid Colorado Teaching License and be In-Field Elementary endorsed by passing the PRAXIS or an approved out of state content exam. Candidates for a secondary teaching (7th-12th grades) position must hold a valid Colorado Teaching License with the appropriate In-Field endorsement for the content they will be teaching.

Professional Development
Jeffco Public Schools provides significant support for our teachers. From kindergarten through twelfth grade and everything in between, we know that the more you learn and apply with your students, the brighter our children’s futures will be!
If you are new to the field or new to Jeffco, our induction support program can help you obtain your professional license, learn important responsibilities of your position, and familiarize you with Jeffco’s system of providing guaranteed and viable curriculum through research-evidenced instructional strategies. We will provide you opportunities to collaborate with colleagues through professional learning communities and
one-to -one instructional coaching. Opportunities for all teachers to develop professionally are included in our early release days, leading student achievement days, online through Schoology, and through
partnership with our content specialists in the Educational Research and Design department.
Students in Jeffco coursework can earn additional duty pay, clock hours toward
relicensure, or graduate credit from state colleges and
